GainSeeker Version 8.4 Turns Disparate Data Into Real-time Manufacturing Intelligence
GOSHEN, INDIANA February 12, 2015—Hertzler Systems Inc. has released the latest version of its flagship GainSeeker Suite SPC software that turns disparate manufacturing data into actionable manufacturing intelligence.
Version 8.4 contains everything manufacturers need to focus on critical issues, take proactive steps quicker, and reinforce a data-driven culture.
The GainSeeker platform contains applications for Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Defect Management, and costly Overpack in a single software package.
Version 8.4 highlights
PC Collect: A bright, new application in version 8.4 for PC-based data collection
PC Collect is a completely new module for PC-based inspections.
“PC Collect is easy to set up and use, and quick to learn,” said Hertzler’s CEO/President Evan J. Miller. “It gives operators immediate, clear, visual feedback that is easy to understand.
“Operators will work faster—and you’ll have more confidence in the data, and be able to respond faster when problems crop up.”
Inspections run using the PC Collect application can be easily created using GainSeeker’s Inspections module.
Big Data dashboard widgets that lend a big hand to managing vast amounts of data
“These Big Data widgets put you ahead of the response curve by delivering an automated, prioritized summary of key issues or process changes, as they occur,” said Miller.
“You can drop one or more on a GainSeeker dashboard, set a few priorities, and it sweeps through the data, delivering a color-coded list of priorities and opportunities. You’ll eliminate a lot of busy work, and surface issues faster so you can take corrective action sooner.”
Miller said the Big Data widgets come at just the right time as quality professionals become more concerned with handling the data they already have, let alone the amount of data they are capable of collecting.
Python™ scripting platform in GainSeeker
Python with GainSeeker enables Hertzler clients to customize their own statistics and charts, automate data generation, and more.
“Python in GainSeeker offers limitless opportunities for quality professionals to wrap up and display data exactly how they want it, when they want it,” said Miller.
“Python has a low customization barrier and it’s very flexible. Such flexibility will become even more necessary as greater connectivity increases the flow speed of data into the manufacturing environment.”
Python scripting and statistics libraries for use with GainSeeker are also launched in Version 8.4. “We’re only at the starting line for ways in which we expect Python to be used with GainSeeker in versions to come,” Miller said.
