You can use the Inspection Editor in the GainSeeker Inspections module to create an inspection that you can run on a mobile device, a PC, or both. GainSeeker Inspections are designed to have a similar user interface on either device type, but there are some differences in how the inspections display due to the different technology.
The PC Collect module runs inspections on PCs and the GS Collect mobile App runs inspections on mobile devices.
Because PCs and mobile devices feature different technology, some inspection properties also differ or display somewhat differently on the devices during a running inspection. Properties that pertain to one device or the other have notations on the property descriptions such as [PC only] or [Mobile only].

Portability. Can be easier for performing inspections on large equipment in which you might need greater mobility.
GPS location. Record GPS locations of large items you inspect. This might be useful for recording locations of large items that are stored along with multiple other like items, such as vehicles.
Take videos. Also useful for recording defects. The video recordings are stored with the inspection data.
Note: You can attach video files to the sub-inspection data or email them in PC Collect.
Voice-to-text. Quickly record voice notes about the inspection that automatically convert to text and store with the inspection data. (This is an iOS device feature that is not exclusive to the GS Collect app. However, its usefulness when running an inspection is worth mentioning.)

You do not need
to purchase GainSeeker Mobile Web (in addition to GainSeeker
Suite) to run a PC inspection. It is required to run GS Collect mobile
device-enabled inspections.
Tip: If you plan on
running inspections on mobile devices in the future, you can always
publish the inspection for use on both devices now. Then, you can
purchase GainSeeker Mobile Web services
in the future when you are ready to start running mobile inspections.
Device stability. A PC is usually more static than a mobile device making it less likely to incur damage during an inspection.
A PC may be better for inspections that require operator handling of multiple small items during the inspection process.
A PC inspection may better free the inspector's hands.
Real-time alerts. GainSeeker performs real-time checks against limits, trends, runs, and zones.
Viewing real-time charts on the data entry screen. Allows you to display the data in real-time during data entry on control charts and other chart types.
A PC Collect inspection Unique ID can be accessed by any GainSeeker user that shares a configuration. You can start an inspection at one PC workstation and continue it at another down the line.
