When you store a data record, DMS now stores multiple records for each sample:
One summary record for the entire sample.
This record does not store any location data, and it uses the standard you created for this part and process. It also contains the traceability values and any notes entered for this sample.
An additional record for each defect.
These records store the defect locations, and they use a variation of your original standard created by appending a prefix and/or suffix to the part number. They also contain the traceability values entered for this sample. The first of these defect location records contains the sample size and the note (operator note and/or failure note) for this sample. The rest of the defect location records for this sample are stored with a sample size of zero.
This means that if you need to edit data, you must do so on the summary record and on one or more defect location records for the sample. If you need to edit a note, you must do so from the summary record and from the first defect location record for the sample.
