Selecting Short Run

Short Run allows you to analyze a process across multiple part numbers.  For an explanation of Short Run analysis, see Short Run statistics.

To analyze Short Run data from the Chart Wizard, follow these steps:

  1. Click Short Run to select the type of process to analyze.

Note:  If the Short Run button is not available, then your system has not yet been configured for Short Run in the Administration module.

  1. Click the Index list and select the Short Run index for the type of process you want to analyze.  Then click OK.

  1. Now the list of standards has been changed to a list of Short Run process specifications for the index you selected.

  1. Highlight one or more process specifications that you want to analyze.  For help with this task, including the Search, and Restrict features, see Finding and selecting standards.

  2. After selecting process specifications, you can also select the Analysis Mode or click Next to proceed to Chart Wizard Step 2.

To analyze data by part number instead of by process specification, click Short Run and select Part Number as your index.  For more information on analyzing data by part number, see Selecting part numbers to analyze.
