Each time you send a file to MINITAB, the program creates a tab-delimited text file in your Windows temporary folder. The name of the file depends on the type of information sent to MINITAB and the module from which the file was sent:
Module/Table |
File Name |
GainSeeker Charts module, all types of data |
expnnnn.txm and/or expnnnn.txt |
PC Collect module, all types of data |
|
SPC Charts and Reports or Enterprise Dashboard, Data Table |
DatMtbnn.txt |
DMS Charts and Reports, Defect Detail |
DdfMtbnn.txt |
DMS Charts and Reports or Enterprise Dashboard, Data Table |
DdtMtbnn.txt |
SPC Charts and Reports, Multiple Data Table |
MltMtbnn.txt |
SPC Charts and Reports, Statistics Listing |
MltStann.txt |
SPC Data Entry, Data Table |
MtbDEnn.txt |
SPC Charts and Reports, Statistics Table |
StaMtbnn.txt |
Placeholders such as "nnnn" or "nn" are values that are incremented each time this type of text file is created in the same folder.
For an explanation of the layout of text files sent to MINITAB, see MINITAB file layout.
If you regularly send files to MINITAB, it is easy to accumulate many of these text files in your Windows temporary folder. It is a good practice to clean up these files periodically if you no longer need them. An easy way to do this is to use the GainSeeker Administration module at your workstation to run Temporary File Cleanup .
