Planner: Step 3

Controlling user access to specific planned sessions

One way that you can control data entry is by using step 3 of the Designer to specify one or more users who will have exclusive rights to run a planned session. You may want to use this feature, along with the Date due box in step 1, to schedule when each planned session should be run and to determine which sessions are available to each user.

To grant all users access to a planned session, do not add any user or group names to the list of Users or groups that will have access to this planned session.

To grant access to specific users or groups, select one or more names from the User or group name list, and then click Add. You may also double-click a name to add it to the list. Repeat until you have selected all of the names to which you want to grant access to this planned session.

To remove a name from the list of Users or groups that will have access to this planned session, click the name and then click Delete.

To remove all the names from the list of Users or groups that will have access to this planned session, click Clear list.

To allow each selected user or group to run this planned session only once, add the names to the Users or groups that will have access to this planned session list. Then select the Remove user from list after session is selected check box. This will allow one-time access to this planned session for each name in the Users or groups that will have access to this planned session list.

User file paths for planned sessions

Of the users to whom you have granted access to this planned session (either by clearing the Users or groups that will have access to this planned session list, or by adding names to the list), this planned session will only function properly for the specified users who have the same file paths for Traceability and SPC Standards as the user or group name you selected to log in to the Planner.

This is only an issue if you have set up different configuration numbers with different file paths.
