Send To options from the File menu

This exports the contents of the current tab or chart window to the destination that you specify. In PDA mode , only the Clipboard , Printer and Email options are available. Some of these options may be missing if a program is not installed. Some of these options may not be available if some programs are not installed on your workstation.

Clipboard

After using this command to copy information to the Clipboard, you can paste the information into a word processing document or other program.

When sending a chart to the clipboard, only the image of the chart is copied. Other Send To options, such as WordPad, include the default statistics to print after charts.

File

Allows you to save text as . htm, . txt or . rtf files, and allows you to save charts as . htm, .jpg, . wmf or . bmp files. You may specify the name and location for the new file.

MINITAB file

WordPad or other Editor

Sends the contents of the current tab or chart window to the editor.

HTML

Saves the contents of the current tab or chart window to an .html file, and then uses your web browser to open the .html file. The file is created in the folder specified by the html_location= setting in Cms.ini.

When sending a chart to HTML, the chart image will be followed by the default statistics to print after charts.

XML

Saves the contents of the current tab or chart window to an .xml file, and then uses your xml browser or web browser to open the .xml file. The file is created in the folder specified by the xml_path= setting in Cms M .ini.

MINITAB

This option is only available when the Data Table tab is active. It opens information in MINITAB for further statistical analysis. See Exporting data to MINITAB for more information.

JMP

This option is only available when the Data Table tab is active. It opens information in JMP software for further statistical analysis. See Exporting data to JMP for more information.

Printer

Allows you to choose a printer and set printing options, then prints the current chart window along with the default statistics to print after charts. This option is not available when the Data Table or Statistics tab is active.

Find Application

Allows you to save the contents of the current tab or chart window in an appropriate file format, and then opens the new file with the application you select. When sending a chart in the .rtf or .htm format, the chart image will be followed by the default statistics to print after charts.

Email

Allows you to choose which charts and tab contents to include in e-mail and displays a new e-mail message which you can address and edit before sending. See Sending to Email for more information.

Note:  If you want the charts to include default headings , add one of the following lines to the Convert.db file:

de_cht_hdrs=1

Headings are only displayed when you e-mail, save or print the chart. They are not displayed in the chart windows on the data entry screen.

de_cht_hdrs=2

Headings are displayed in the chart windows on the data entry screen and in charts that you e-mail, save or print.

If you add one of these lines to the Convert.db file, it will apply to all SPC data entry charts in all configurations.
