Files sent to JMP

Each time you send a file to JMP, the program creates a tab-delimited text file in your Windows temporary folder. The name of the file depends on the type of information sent to JMP and the module from which the file was sent:

Module/Table

File Name

Data Table in the Charts and Reports or Data Entry modules

Jmp Datnn.txt

DMS Charts and Reports, Defect Detail

JmpDetnn.txt

SPC Charts and Reports, Multiple Data Table

JmpMDTnn.txt

SPC Charts and Reports, Statistics Table

JmpMSTnn.txt

"nn" is a two-digit number beginning with 00 that is incremented each time this type of text file is created in the same folder.

If you regularly send files to JMP, it is easy to accumulate many of these text files in your Windows temporary folder. It is a good practice to clean up these files periodically if you no longer need them. An easy way to do this is to use the GainSeeker Administration module at your workstation to run Temporary File Cleanup .
