You can designate Level 1 and Level 2 passwords and other settings for each GainSeeker configuration.
Navigate to the General settings options on the Configurations tab of the System Administration module following this path:
Configurations | (configuration name) | General settings
To prevent a configuration from changing existing notes, select the Append notes checkbox. When selected, a configuration can only append additional text to the notes.
To allow a configuration to change notes, clear the Append notes checkbox.
Note: The Note Manager in the GainSeeker Utility module disregards this setting if it is selected. However, note editing using Note Manager is disabled if the user does not have rights to edit notes, and the button used for editing data is also disabled if they do not have rights to edit data.
Each configuration that you create is automatically assigned an ID number. Its purpose on the Configuration tab is for informational purposes only. This number cannot be changed.
You can choose how GainSeeker responds when you choose to display the full list of standards.
If the full list is slow to display (for example, if you have thousands of standards or if your database is slow) you can configure GainSeeker to only retrieve standards when configuration users search for them instead of automatically filling the list with all of the standards in your database. To enable GainSeeker to respond this way, clear the Automatically fill standard list checkbox.
To allow GainSeeker to automatically retrieve all of your standards when users need to choose from a full list of standards, select the Automatically fill standard list checkbox.
To allow users to toggle between the full list of standards and the priority list of standards, clear this checkbox.
To prevent the user from toggling between these lists, select this checkbox. The single list that displays to the user depends on the Show standard list first instead of priority list setting (below).
When a configuration needs to choose from a list of standards, you can designate whether GainSeeker displays all of your DMS standards or the priority list of DMS standards.
To display the full list of DMS standards by default, select the Show standard list first instead of priority list checkbox.
To display the priority list of DMS standards by default, clear this checkbox.
You can connect GainSeeker to channels in Microsoft Teams. This lets you post real-time failure alerts, charts, dashboards, dynamic reports, and other information in the Teams channel you specify.
Identify the Teams channels you want to link to GainSeeker.
GainSeeker posts cannot be deleted from a channel.
Follow these Microsoft instructions to:
Add an Incoming Webhook (if not present) to a channel.
Configure the channel's Webhook with a name, then copy its
URL and paste it into another document.
You will need this URL to set up this channel in GainSeeker.
In the configuration's General settings, right-click on Microsoft Teams channel webhooks to add, test, and delete channel webhooks.
To add a new channel webhook to GainSeeker:
Click the Add button.
Enter a Channel Name
to display in GainSeeker and the Webhook
URL you copied from Teams (above), then click OK.
You can repeat these steps to set up multiple channel webhooks.
To edit a channel webhook, delete the existing channel webhook and then create a new one.
To test a channel webhook in GainSeeker:
Select the channel webhook and then click the Test button.
GainSeeker will display a message indicating whether it could
successfully connect to the channel webhook.
You can post GainSeeker information in a Teams Channel via:
The GainSeeker Charts module Send To menu.
The Dynamic Reports 2 module Send To menu.
The PC Collect module Send To menu (displayed by right-clicking a side panel chart).
A shortcut to open a GainSeeker chart, dashboard, desktop, or Dynamic Report and send it to Teams.
The sub-inspection property CombinedTeamsFailureResponse and its corresponding Python command inspect.cursubi.combinedteamsfailureresponse.
The numeric input test property CheckTeamsFailureResponse and its corresponding Python command inspect.cursubi.ni(idx).checkteamsfailureresponse.
The Python teams command.
Keep in mind these limitations of Microsoft Teams:
GainSeeker posts cannot be deleted from a channel.
Lists and Tables sent from GainSeeker Charts or PC Collect will always format the top row in bold.
Microsoft Teams limits the rate at which you can create posts via one webhook. If this is a problem, you may want to create more channels with webhooks or create multiple webhooks in the same channel.
Charts and Dashboards may be reduced to fit the width of a Teams post, but there are some workarounds if this causes problems.
Dynamic Reports may be reduced to fit the width of a Teams post, but there are some workarounds if this causes problems.
If you need to enlarge the image in Microsoft Teams, click the
Enlarge button on the image and then click the Zoom In and Zoom Out
buttons.
Microsoft Teams tools to download or copy an image from a post may not work correctly for GainSeeker posts.
You can configure a Role so that a Level 1 password or a Level 2 password must be entered if a configuration user attempts to access certain GainSeeker modules or features.
To change either of these passwords, right-click the Level 1 password or Level 2 password setting. Then, enter the new password in the New password box and in the Confirm new password box. To clear the password, leave both boxes blank.
