Sending the monitor data to another program or file

Note: This topic contains information about the legacy SPC Database Monitor module, which is being phased out from GainSeeker Suite. It is still available for use, but is being replaced by the Monitor Table chart window in the newer GainSeeker Charts module.

You can export the contents of the current monitor window to another program or file:

  1. Click the File menu or right-click on a monitor window.

  2. Point to Send To.

  3. On the Send To menu, click one of the options listed below.

    In PDA mode, only the Clipboard and Email options are available.

Clipboard

After using this command to copy information to the Clipboard, you can paste the information into a word processing document or other program.

File

Allows you to save the monitor information as an . htm, . txt or . rtf file. You may specify the name and location for the new file.

WordPad or other Editor

Sends the contents of the current monitor window to the editor.

HTML

Saves the contents of the current monitor window to an .html file, and then uses your web browser to open the .html file. The file is created in the folder specified by the html_location= setting in Cms.ini.

XML

Saves the contents of the current monitor window to an .xml file, and then uses your xml browser or web browser to open the .xml file. The file is created in the folder specified by the xml_path= setting in Cms.ini.

Find Application

Allows you to save the contents of the current monitor window in an appropriate file format, and then opens the new file with the application you select.

Email

Allows you to choose which of the currently displayed monitor windows to include in e-mail and displays a new e-mail message which you can address and edit before sending. See Sending to Email for more information.
