GainSeeker SPC uses Specification Limits for individual capability calculations. It uses these specifications to predict the probability of making out-of-specification parts. It also uses them for real-time checks for individual data points.
Three sets of gate limits are available: individual, subgroup, and range.
Subgroup gate limits and range gate limits are historical control limits. Typically, you collect data from a process during a control period. From this data you establish historical control limits and store those as gate limits in the standard for a selected characteristic. Then, in future studies, you can compare the historical control limits (gates) with calculated control limits.
Individual gates are used as real-time checks for individual data points, or they may be used as reasonable limits to prevent unreasonable readings from being stored.
