For GainSeeker to correctly analyze your data, you must identify the type of data in each relevant column.
At minimum, you must specify at least one Data column. Columns with no data type specified will not be included in analysis.
A column that contains part numbers or characteristics can be designated as the Part Number column, even if standards do not exist for these part numbers or characteristics. New temporary standards will be created for those items for which standards have not already been defined.
There are two ways to specify the type of data in a column:
Right-click on the column, point to Column Type, and then click the data type that should be used to analyze this column.
Click an item in the Column Type list, and then drag the selected column type to the corresponding column in the Data from clipboard box.
After using either method, the Column Type you specified is now displayed at the top of the column.
Additionally, if the first row of information copied to the Clipboard contains column headings that also appear in the Column Type list, these headings will automatically be set as the Column Types.
If multiple columns contain numeric data values that will be used to calculate statistics, you should set the Column Type to Data for each of these columns.
To remove the Column Type designation from a column, right-click on the column and then click Clear Column Type. Columns with no data type specified will not be included in analysis.
