FILTER

If you enter the FILTER command in a Cavity field, and then the data entry operator specifies 'cavity 12' for that traceability field during data entry, the data entry control chart and all related calculations would only show data for cavity 12.

Insert this command in a traceability field to turn on a traceability filter for data entry charts. During data entry, FILTER uses the current value in this traceability field and forces the program to retrieve data for the current part number and for the current traceability field. This command does not work in an Event, Cause, or Action Taken column.

The FILTER command does not return a value.

When used in a formula with other commands, FILTER should be the last command in the formula.  Following the FILTER command with other commands such as [Current] can cause the template to re-retrieve the data unnecessarily and slow down data entry.

To filter on a traceability value in multiple rows of a template, you must place the FILTER command in the traceability cell of each row and force the template to go to each cell containing the FILTER command.

When using a template to access external data from the SPC Charts and Reports module, this command will be ignored.
