Using the DPU Chart Builder

The DPU Chart Builder draws DPU (defects per unit) charts.

When you select DPU from the Start screen, the icon on the toolbar or the File menu, you will see the Where do you want to start? screen. Use this screen to choose what type of retrieval you want to make. After you select your starting point, you will see the first screen in the DPU Chart Builder. The chart builder guides you through all the detailed choices you can make to view your preferred chart. You can press the Finish button at any time to see the chart. If the builder needs more information, it will tell you.

The “Where do you want to start?” screen is the key to creating your chart.

The choice you make at this screen determines the breadth of the data you will retrieve. It gives you three ways to retrieve data.

Your choice of how much data you want to analyze depends on what you want to learn.

The goal of any analysis is to identify where your greatest opportunity for improvement is. However, you can reach your goal in different ways.
