This describes resolutions or solutions to issues in GainSeeker 8.2.1 and 8.2.0 and corrections to the Online User Guide.
Windows Media Player replaces AMovie.ocx as the default SPC Data Entry video tab player in GainSeeker. The former player performed unpredictably with 64-bit and some 32-bit applications. You can opt to revert to AMovie.ocx at individual workstations. See de_oldvideo Cms.ini setting for more information.
When the View as text option for traceability lists or table names was selected, the list it produced did not always contain the correct values. This issue is resolved.
When users who had rights to make a change to only their configuration in the System Administration module made changes, GainSeeker stopped responding. This issue is resolved.
The MySQL data provider improperly installed on 64-bit machines. This issue is resolved.
When a second Configuration branch was expanded on the Configuration tab, it would incorrectly display the traceability list associated with the first Configuration branch that had been expanded in that session. This issue is resolved.
Now you can choose the Data Table display columns directly from the Settings tab of the New SPC Charts and New DMS Charts dialog boxes in the GainSeeker Charts module. This replaces the Data Table Columns dialog used for this in the legacy SPC and DMS Charts and Reports modules.
When logging into any GainSeeker module requiring a user license, all inactive user licenses are now cleared before open license availability is determined. This reduces the number of incidences in which users receive the All licenses in use message.
UNC (Universal Naming Convention) paths were formerly not allowed in GainSeeker because they were not supported by all databases. The current versions of all databases supported by GainSeeker, now allow for UNC paths. The Installation and the Administration modules now allow UNC paths to be entered.
When users suppressed all non-critical and trappable error messages using Template Command DE_OPT 16, Setting 2, some error messages remained active. This issue is resolved.
When an array name was specified as the List_Q (SQL_statement) parameter, error message 91 generated. This issue is resolved.
When the count was set to limit the number of subgroups in a retrieval, the data sorted incorrectly. This issue is resolved.
In earlier GainSeeker versions, if you created a report you could set the AutoRefresh report property. However, setting this value failed to refresh the report. This issue is resolved.
When a user copied a dashboard and then made changes to the original or the copy, both dashboards displayed the same changes. This issue is resolved.
When a command line with ExportType=Email did not contain a valid Export="Email address" parameter, GainSeeker stopped responding, even if even there was a valid ExportList= parameter. This issue is resolved.
When the Send To > Excel... option was selected from the right-click menu for a Data Table, and the table contained numerous records, GainSeeker sometimes displayed an error message. This issue is resolved.
When a filter was used with the SORT based on a traceability field of 7 or greater, the retrieval returned no data. This issue is resolved.
Beginning with GainSeeker version 8.2.1, GainSeeker recognizes MINITAB version 16 as the version to which it communicates by default. However, you can opt to change this setting to have GainSeeker recognize MINITAB 15 as the default version.
When the y-Axis of a control chart was set to scale to a specific value in the Standard dialog, there was not a method for overriding that value to have GainSeeker automatically scale it using calculations based on the data. This issue is resolved.
When a link to a nonexistent file in the Note section of the Edit Data dialog was clicked, GainSeeker stopped responding. This issue is resolved.
When two charts were created at the same time and a data record on one of the charts was permanently bypassed, that chart still displayed the data record even after it was redrawn. This issue is resolved.
When the Out of Control, run, trends, and zone violations excluded option for the Statistical outliers setting was selected, and the default All data included option was later selected, the chart redrew with the data still excluded from the retrieval. This issue is resolved.
GainSeeker allowed a user to change statistics used in a dashboard control even if that user did not have rights to perform that action. This issue is resolved.
After a group of charts was created and some settings for a chart were subsequently changed, when the chart redrew, it reflected all the settings and data for the first part number picked when the chart group was first created. This issue is resolved.
When selecting the column retrieval option for SPC charts and choosing a column to retrieve, the data for Column 1 will always be retrieved. This issue is resolved.
The Edit data... and Edit note... labels previously available on the right-click menu for a chart that was drawn from a dashboard control were misleading. These items can only be viewed, not edited, on a chart that is drawn from a dashboard control. The options have been relabeled to View data... and View note... . See Chart... right-click menu option for more information.
When the Edit data... or Edit note... option was selected on the right-click menu of a Data Table that originated from a dashboard control, neither the data or note could be edited. Now, any changes are saved and displayed on the host dashboard window. For more information see View data... right-click menu option
When the speedometer dial gage was the selected skin type, a label incorrectly displayed on the dial of the dashboard control. This issue is resolved.
When a dashboard was opened that contained a DMS Data Table for which a user had changed the property for data column labels to display, the property reverted to the default setting. This issue is resolved.
When a dashboard name contained invalid characters, an error message displayed when an attempt was made to export the dashboard. This issue is resolved.
When the Delete Range option was selected from the right-click menu of a DMS Data Table, the range of data records selected for deletion remained in the Data Table. This issue is resolved.
GainSeeker allowed a user to change statistics used in a dashboard control even if that user did not have rights to perform that action. This issue is resolved.
When the Make Same Size right-click menu option was selected for some dashboard controls, an error message displayed. This issue is resolved.
When a desktop was opened that contained a Control chart for which the data had been manually grouped by a user, the setting did not save with the desktop. This issue is resolved.
When a desktop name contained invalid characters, an error message displayed when an attempt was made to export the desktop. This issue is resolved.
When a desktop was opened that contained an SPC chart for which a user value had been set for the maximum number of data points to display, the setting reverted to the default setting. This issue is resolved.
When retrieving data for standards utilizing all 30 allowable characters in WebViz, no data was returned. This issue is resolved.
