All numbers and dates displayed during a data entry session are formatted according to the regional options on that workstation.
Numbers with decimal places are displayed with the decimal symbol in the workstation's regional options.
Dates are displayed with the short date and time format in the workstation's regional options.
Here is a sample data entry screen on a workstation where the regional options are set to "Italian (Italy)" on August 19, 2005. Notice the decimal symbols and the date and time formats used.
Similarly, all numbers and dates that will be output to another application (such as WordPad or e-mail), to a file (such as a text file or an Excel file), or to a device (through a connection such as RS-232 or TCP/IP) are formatted according to the regional options on that workstation. If you need to output these values in a different format, use the FORMAT command.
