Customizing DMS Data Entry

You can configure several DMS Data Entry options that affect features of the program.  The options you configure become the new default settings.  Some options are applied to an entire configuration, while others must be set at each workstation.  

The options that are set for a workstation are set via the DMS Data Entry module or Cms.ini.  They include:

• Bar Code data entry

• Defect Location Tracking

• Changing the Date/Time stamp to automatic or user-selected

• Changing the screen layout

• Modifying Column Widths

• Options for checking data before it is saved

• Customizing the way the Part Number is selected

• Launching an External Application from Data Entry

The settings that apply to the entire configuration are set via the Administration module.  They include:

• Real-time checking for out-of-gate failures

• How the Enter key is used on the Data Entry screen

• How traceability is set when a user logs to the DMS Data Entry module

• Whether to automatically log missing units as defective units

• Whether more than one defect can be logged per unit

• Whether to clear the traceability fields when the user changes to a different standard
