TCP/IP

GainSeeker SPC can access data from devices that are capable of TCP/IP communication through the local area network. TCP/IP-capable devices include GageWay gage interfaces from MicroRidge Systems and several devices made by Zumbach Electronics.

GainSeeker can make up to 10 connections at a time to the devices reading data. Each connection has a unique number assigned to it.

Setting up TCP/IP data collection involves three basic steps:

  1. Set up your device and computing environment.  For details, see Requirements for TCP/IP data entry.

  2. Use the TCP/IP Communication Utility to test the connection between a GainSeeker SPC workstation and the TCP/IP device.  For details, see Test TCP/IP connection with GainSeeker.

  3. Write a template to collect data from the TCP/IP device.  For details, see Writing a TCP/IP template for data entry.
