Monitor records are actually copies of the data records used for analysis and reporting. When editing or deleting records in the Monitor, the following considerations apply:
When you edit a data record, you may choose whether or not to update the associated Monitor record as well.
Typically you will want to update the Monitor record so that it matches the associated data record.
When you delete a Monitor record, you may choose whether or not to delete the associated data record as well.
Typically you will want to remove old Monitor records from the Database Monitor while retaining the associated data records for historical analysis.
