GainSeeker Version 8.7 Improves Ease of Use, Saves Time, and Lowers Total Cost of Ownership
GOSHEN, INDIANA March 9, 2017—Hertzler Systems Inc. has released the latest version of its flagship GainSeeker® Suite SPC Software. The newest release improves ease of use, saves time, and lowers total cost of ownership with data entry support for PC cameras and webcams, improved performance for long lists of standards, and a new Python Script Editor.
The company’s primary product, GainSeeker® Suite SPC software, and related services provide better visibility of production data so that clients can capture data at all stages of the manufacturing supply chain process. Users can generate analytics that enable optimization within and across multiple production facilities. This increases clients’ capacity to respond to problems and uncover hidden opportunities to increase revenue, grow operating margins, and improve asset performance.

Version 8.7 highlights:
A new dashboard property increases accountability and gives managers increased confidence in quality data. GainSeeker can perform a wide variety of actions if data collection falls behind schedule, including changing the display, sounding an alarm, or sending emails or text messages.
GainSeeker 8.7 makes it even easier to link GainSeeker data to pictures, which gives analysts another important tool for investigating problems and determining how their root causes can be eliminated in the future – ultimately resulting in lower business costs and higher margins. The new version connects directly to a built-in camera or webcam so that the data entry inspector can point the camera at the problem and touch a button to take a picture. GainSeeker now automatically manages the pictures, saving time for data entry inspectors and analysts by improving ease-of-use and eliminating inaccurate image links.
Camera integration also supports barcode data entry for traceability values. Scanning a barcode or QR code is faster and more accurate than other methods of capturing traceability, and using the built-in camera eliminates costly external hardware.
Some GainSeeker modules have been modified to load a very long list of standards significantly faster than in previous versions – sometimes up to 20 times faster. For any client with thousands of checks, this results in a significant time savings and increased productivity.
For over two years, system administrators have been able to extend and fine-tune GainSeeker functionality with Python™ scripts. In this latest GainSeeker release, the Python Script Editor has been completely redesigned to improve ease of use and save time when creating and editing scripts.
