Hertzler Systems has tested GainSeeker Suite against the Open Connectivity standard published by the OPC Foundation. By participating in the OPC Foundation’s Interoperability Workshop 2010, the company was able to test GainSeeker Suite with dozens of manufacturing systems at one time, and verify successful interconnectivity.
Goshen, IN, June 7, 2010 – Hertzler Systems Inc., a leading provider of SPC Sofware, KPI Software, and Operational Intelligence software, announced today that it attended the OPC Foundation’s Interoperability Workshop 2010, from May 17 – 21. During the workshop, Hertzler tested their GainSeeker Suite with software from dozens of other companies.
Byron Shetler, Principal and CTO for Hertzler, represented the company at the event. “We tested GainSeeker with all the OPC servers in the room,” he said, “and it passed with flying colors.” A partial list of the companies involved in the test includes Yokogawa Electric Corp., Takebishi Corp., Software Toolbox, Siemens AG, OSISoft, Inc., MatrikonOPC, Kepware Technologies, InduSoft LLC, GE Intelligent Platforms, and Emerson Process Management.
OPC is an open connectivity standard that specifies the communication of real-time data between control devices and enterprise software systems in manufacturing. The OPC open standards specifications fill a need in industrial automation in the same way that printer drivers work in an office environment.
“We were the only ‘client-only’ vendor to attend the event,” Shetler said. “Our testing addressed all of the functionality that we need to support our customers. It was cool to get all these companies in one room, bang on each other’s software, and prove that everything works as advertised.”
