Charting data

When viewing a dashboard or a data table, you can use the right-click menu to launch a chart of the underlying data in the SPC Charts and Reports module or the DMS Charts and Reports module.

Note: When viewing a dashboard where rows are defined by traceability field 7 or higher, this option is not available.

Launching a chart from a dashboard

  1. To begin launching a chart from a dashboard:

  2. On the right-click menu, click Chart.

    This displays the Select Charts and Reports screen.

Charts for DMS data

Charts for SPC data

  1. If you are launching DMS charts, select the Retrieval type. If the data being charted contains more than one standard, the option for Control charts is not available.

  2. On the Select Charts and Reports screen, select one or more charts and then click OK.

Launching a chart from a data table

  1. Right-click on any row in the table and then click Chart.

  2. On the Select Charts and Reports screen, select the Retrieval type.

  3. Then select one or more charts and then click OK. For more information about these charts, see DMS Charts.

  2. On the Select Charts and Reports screen, select one or more charts. For more information about these charts, see SPC Charts.

  3. Select a High date for charts and reports:

  4. Click OK to launch the selected charts with the selected date range.

Refreshing charts launched from Enterprise Dashboard

Note: When launching an SPC chart for data going back only a certain number of anchor points, the same data will be reflected in the dashboard and on the chart. However, if you refresh the chart, the number of anchor points will be ignored.

To refresh the chart while maintaining the correct number of anchor points, you should refresh the dashboard and then launch the chart again.

Changing configuration

Note: Features that allow one GainSeeker module to launch another GainSeeker module will use only the configuration that is associated with the login name. If you click the File menu and choose Change Configuration to access the data and settings for a different configuration, GainSeeker will ignore this change in configuration when launching SPC or DMS charts.
