GainSeeker® Suite Version 10.1.0

GainSeeker now supports up to 250 Traceability fields

Previous versions of GainSeeker only allowed 48 Traceability fields. With version 10.1, up to 250 traceability fields are now allowed. If the traceability column count is changed to allow more than 48, new database tables must be created. See the new Additional Traceability Columns dialog in the Administration module for details.

 

 

Deleting a large group of users is now easier

The System Administration module now has the ability to list and sort the entire list of users by multiple columns. You can then select multiple users to delete.

GainSeeker now has options to require strong passwords and complex passwords

Two new system wide settings allow administrators to require complex passwords and require strong passwords (based on NIST 800-63B guidelines).

Complex password requirements:

• Passwords will be a minimum of eight characters in length

• Passwords must contain at least one uppercase letter

• Passwords must contain at least one lowercase letter

• Passwords must contain at least one numeric character (0-9)

• Passwords must contain at least one special character

Strong password requirements: (from NIST Special Publication 800-63B, Digital Identity Guidelines as of 1 October 2024)

• Passwords will be a minimum of eight characters in length

• Passwords will permit a maximum of 80 characters

• Passwords will accept all printing ASCII characters and the space character

• Passwords are not required to be complex. This can be required with a separate setting

• Passwords are not required to be changed periodically unless there is evidence of

• a compromise. This can be required with a separate setting

• Passwords will not store a hint that is accessible

• Passwords will not prompt users with knowledge-based authentication or security questions

• Passwords will be verified by the entire password, they will not be truncated

In addition to the NIST guidelines, when selecting this requirement the following requirements are added:

• Users cannot use any of their previous five passwords for a new password

• Passwords may not contain their GainSeeker user name or their Windows login name
